Part Time Mom

I’m a stay at home mom

Kind of…

You see I’m a nanny for a sweet babe AND my son gets to come with me. I get to work while watching my son grow up. I’ve been able to do it since he was 8 months old.

Yes of course there are some days where I wish I could enjoy being a REAL stay at home mom because some toddler days are tough.

My son is 2.5 years old and the sweet babe I nanny for is 10 months old. There’s a big difference in age but they love to play with one another. Honestly it makes me see a glimpse of what it would be like if we decided to have another.. but that’s another post for another day.

The toughest part of my job is finding something to do for my son when we have just us moments.

Typically when we get to my nanny family’s house sweet babe (that’s what we will say her name is too because it sounds so sweet!) is asleep. So depending on the time we arrive it could be 2-3 hours before she wakes. So being early in the morning the sleepies aren’t out of us so some morning Netflix or Hulu come in handy. Especially those mornings when we are a bit of a moody booty and haven’t really woken up for the day.

Plus  the house isn’t ready for a toddler just yet (she just started attempting to walk and pull herself up) so the toddler world isn’t very existent unless we bring our bag of goodies. Then our home away from home bag can transform any house into a toddler friendly environment.

From a world full of cars

to crafts beyond the paper.

Needless to say my bag is often full of a little bit of everything (and YES it does get pretty heavy because I never really know what kind of mood he’ll be in so I have to make sure I have something for every toddler mood). If it were up to him I’m pretty sure Bob the Builder and Paw Patrol would be running the show.

I love doing totschool with him thanks to Kaitlyn over at Simply Learning. When I was nannying for a previous family I came across her feed a few years ago and totally got an instacrush on her feed. So when she started offering her creative ideas and fun ways to learn for little ones I jumped at the chance. She is so  creative and open minded. I try to add my own spin on things when I can but Kaitlyn is the mastermind.

I came across Marbotic on Instagram a few weeks ago because I’m always searching for fun ways to learn. I was debating on ordering and decided to wait.  But then I went to my favorite place in the whole world TARGET and I found they carried Marbotic Smart Letters.

So we took it home that night.
The colors are fantastic and the apps really engage love my little tot.

Evan loves the letters just as much as my camera does.

If you are looking for something fun and exciting that includes learning… go check out Marbotic.
